Franklinton Farms is a two acre, 12 site, scattered urban farm operating year-round in Columbus, Ohio.

We currently manage; eleven food production sites, twelve high tunnels, a fruit tree orchard, a berry patch, a microgreens grow-room, a seedling start house, and a learning garden.

At Franklinton Farms, love and respect for what we do is inspired by and influences-in-return our ongoing commitment to people and planet.

💚

Inclusion

The Earth is both our partner and teacher. We use sustainable agricultural practices that are good for the land, farm workers, and consumers.

💡

ECOSYSTEM

We border our food gardens with flowering native plants to support the neighborhood’s diverse ecosystem and resiliency.

Soil Rejuvenation

All life depends upon the soil.

We use compost, cover crops, and low-till methods to nourish the soil that feeds us.

Season Extension through High Tunnels

We grow food all year long through the use of high tunnels; simple metal frames covered with a layer of clear greenhouse plastic.

Though unheated, high tunnels harness the sun’s rays to create a micro climate suitable for growing tomatoes and peppers in the summer, greens and root crops in the winter.

These tools and techniques allow us to consistently distribute fresh and nutritious food throughout our neighborhood and the Greater Columbus area.
