January 2021 Updates
On the Farm
We are entering the full winter season. Our high tunnels are still all growing beautifully, but the land outside is taking its time to rest.
We plant cover crop, harvest our hardy winter veggies... and we dream!
Buying seeds is one of the favorite jobs on the farm - you get a look to the future, and at the bounty the future holds!
In the Patrick Kaufman Learning Garden
We are currently building an ADA accessible path, in memory and honor of Jennifer Flynn, to increase the ease with which visitors - neighbors and strangers alike and of all movement abilitiess - can take joy in being in this community garden.
It is tough to see our beautiful learning garden in such turmoil and construction, but we bask in a warm glow knowing it will soon be of greater use to EVERYONE in the community and not just the physically abled.
What volunteers are up to
Digging up sunchokes, of course!
It's that time of year that our wondrous volunteers battle the near-frozen ground to access the little nutty sunchokes that are ready to be plucked.
We are also prepping beds with leaves and mulch, giving the soil the nutrients it needs to replenish itself and be bountiful again in Spring!
